Straw yellow colored gem. The transparency is good although an optical effect is noticeable that gives the gem a velvety appearance. This effect, called "whisky on ice" is caused by the way the gem crystallizes. Some slight inclusions

Grossularia is a garnet that is not easy to find on the market. It takes its name from the botanical name of gooseberry and is justified by its color, which is very similar to that of the fruit. It is a very bright, durable gem, suitable for jewelry, but it is especially sought after by collectors.
