Semi-transparent cabochon that when moved under the light shows a diffuse opalescence in orange and green, which moves on a cream-colored background. The gem has a darker yellow veining. Good cut proportions

Semi-opaque opal cabochon. The opalescence is well distributed over the surface of the gem. Most likely it is the hydrophane variety: a type of unstable opal that is regularly treated by impregnation with artificial silica gel. This treatment serves to stabilize the opal and make it less porous.
