Citrine with this intense color, almost darker than a "madeira", is a very rare variety of quartz, very difficult to find in nature and when you can, it is small. Most of the material available on the market comes from the treatment of Smoky Quartz or very pale Amethysts, which if irradiated and heated, change their color to a beautiful saturated yellow-brown.
