Nero Gems

Rare example of star ruby. Asterism is an optical phenomenon caused by the presence of needle-like inclusions of rutile, which reflect light to form a beautiful six-pointed star as soon as the gem is moved under the light. In this example the star is well centered and defined. The medium-tone purple-red color and good saturation, combined with the asterism effect, make it a very interesting gem that is suitable for gold or silver creations.
