The gem appears included and semi-transparent. The cut with elongated proportions presents itself as a marquise whose crown faces are rhomboidal and triangular in shape, while those of the pavilion are rectangular. The overall effect is that of a mixed cut.
The marquise cut has a very romantic history: it was invented by the jewelers accredited at the court of the Sun King, who commissioned them to create a diamond whose shape recalled that of the lips of his favorite: the Marquise de Pompadour.
