Orange sapphire, probably obtained by beryllium diffusion treatment. There are inclusions visible with the 10x loupe
Pure corundum, or aluminum oxide, is a completely colorless mineral. The presence of elements foreign to its chemistry give it its color; hence the name of the variety (sapphire for blue and ruby for red). The lot presented is of sapphires, whose orange color was induced by beryllium diffusion processes in the structure of the gems. The rosette cut is very particular.
