The inspiration came to me at the seaside, looking at the rocky and wind-eroded coast, the softer layers were deeply eroded while the harder ones protruded slightly, it is a part of many panoramas that has always fascinated me, whether at the seaside or in the mountains: the time it took to create them and fold them in that way has made them pages of a book that tells of a very distant past.
They have always attracted my children, who enjoy looking between the layers in search of fossils and I must admit, with the excuse of consenting to their curiosity, I have often satisfied mine by "HELPING THEM" to open the small fragments detached by erosion.
